5-star Atlantic Coast seaside campsite

When you go camping on the Landes coast you get to enjoy the long fine-sand beaches, bathe in the ocean and walk along the shore. Unless you prefer the thrill of riding the waves or the wind for an adrenalin rush like none you’ve ever known! Here you can ride a surfboard, bodyboard, kitesurf, paddleboard, canoe, kayak, Hawaiian dug-out, windsurf, catamaran, sand yacht, etc. A fantastic playground across 100 km of vast and beautiful beaches! But if you like basking in the sun and dipping in calmer waters, you may well prefer the tranquillity of the lakes of Landes - Cazaux-Sanguinet, Biscarrosse-Parentis, or the saltwater lake of Hossegor. These lakes are less busy than the ocean beaches in the height of summer and can be found just a short distance from the Atlantic coast. Again, they offer a multitude of pleasures: basking in the sun, bathing in warmer, shallower water (perfect for the faint-hearted and for the safety of the children, thanks to the lifeguarded beaches), or enjoying your favourite watersports in ideal conditions... Campers who are keen anglers will also find joy, casting their lines into the many lakes, ponds and rivers of Landes which are home to an abundance of fish!

The Vélodyssée cycle path runs from Roscoff in Brittany to Hendaye in Pyrénées-Atlantiques, crossing the department of Landes for about 160 km. If you wish to try the Vélodyssée experience during your holiday at the 5-star Le Vieux Port campsite in Messanges, you can admire the scenery surrounding the cycle paths of Landes by following the Léon-Bayonne section (62.3 km). Along the way: Moliets, Vieux-Boucau, Seignosse, Hossegor and Capbreton, Labenne, Tarnos, Boucau, the River Adour and, eventually, Bayonne and the Basque Country. A wonderful adventure between ocean and forest where the scent of the pines mingles with the fresh sea air.
