Because the planet has need to be protectedand because at camping Le Vieux Port, we are in direct contact with nature, we wanted to implement a policy of sustainable development. Our way ofpaying tribute to our territory of ocean and forest and to our location in the heart of a unique place. If our first ecological approachconsists inreducing the impact of our activity on our environment, at the five-star campsite Le Vieux Portwe have also developeda whole approachand a range of servicesresolutely aimed at theprotection of our nature.
All our mobile homes are 90% eco-designed.
The environment of camping Le Vieux Port is absolutely unique. Bordered by the infinite beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, our 5-star campsite is nestled in the heart of the Landes forest. With an overwhelming nature, our campsite is committed a little more each year to a responsible approach. Firstly, to continue to highlight the natural gems that make the beauty of our site. And above all by conviction. That of generating the smallest footprint, that of wanting to blend in as much as possible with our natural environment. It was while taking stock of what we could revise for amore ethical approach to the environment, that it seemed essential to turn our attention to our mobil-homes. So we sifted through and analysed their entire life cycles to determine axes to review. And now we are proud to announce that our mobile home fleet is 90% eco-designed.
From construction with structures from recycling, to the use of renewable raw materials, to equipment designed to be energy efficient, our housing park is made to last and to be 100% recyclable at the end of life. To go into a bit more detail, the framework of the mobile homes in our camping Le Vieux Port is made entirely of natural raw materials, the insulation of their walls and ceilings are made of plant wool, and the presence of woodand plywood are from eco-managed forests. On the furnishing side, our innerspring mattresses, for example, have foam made from recycled water bottles. When renewing them, we optimisethen our carbon footprint by sourcing from a reputable mattress supplier only three quarters of an hour's drive from Le Vieux Port campsite. Enough to activate the local Landes economy while continuing our ecological approach by operating in short circuit. And to take nothing away from our commitment, the quality of these mattresses is such that theirlife span is extended by 6 years, without taking anything away from their comfort characteristics.

The Old Port is committed from A to Z.
If at camping Le Vieux Port we have combed through the materials of our structures so that they have the least possible impact, we also wanted to ensure that this was the case from the very beginning to the very end of our facilities. Starting with the very framework of our mobile homes. So, from the design to the end of life of our accommodation, we take care tofocus our efforts to minimiseas much as possible our footprint on our fragile environment. Concerned about how to recycle our housing destined to be replaced, we have been proud to work with Eco Mobil-Homefor just over 5 years now. This company takes care of our mobile homes at the end of their life, actively participating in the recovery of the waste generated, thanks to the recycling of materials or reusing them for other structures. By appealing to this professional specialising in the removal of mobile leisure homes, we are thus continuing our efforts for the environment and further supporting our sustainable development policy. By consolidating our links with our privileged partners, it is the human that we also seek to highlight, through beautiful initiativessuch as those of the company Eco Mobil-Home. Innovative proposals in the service of the environment to continue to make the site of the five-star camping site Le Vieux Port, a unique and exceptional place.
Details of the environmental policy of camping Le Vieux Port.
At camping Le Vieux Port we want to ensure that the environment is at the heart of our daily lives, by involving everyone in our approach. Thus, each start of the season is the right time to give a briefing to all our seasonal workers on our way of acting. By training all the newcomers who join our staff, we explain to them our eco-gestures, we introduce them to our good environmental reflexes and, above all, we provide themwith a welcome booklet designed to inform them of our environmental policy. Including our staff in our green approach is also a good way to encourage our travellers to adopt green practices. Because having the idea is great. But being able toput it into practice right away is even better!
Thus, in each of our rentals, a zero waste welcome kit actively participates in putting our holidaymakers in the bath of healthy gestures for nature. Ourwelcome policyaims to reduce as much as possible polluting packaging and utensils, by providing green bin bags, natural scraper sponges, coffee filters or even eco-labelled multi-purpose cloths and sheet kits which are no longer wrapped in plastic. Environmental Days are also organised for all our holidaymakers. A day of awareness of the environment that surrounds us by participating in pine plantations on the campsite, by picking up plastic waste on the beach with direct access from the campsite or around the surrounding cycle paths. Concrete and always playful actions to raise awareness a little more about nature. It's all these details that make the difference for unique and greener holidays at Camping Le Vieux Port!

The 5-star Le Vieux Port campsite has been awarded the eco-label.
At camping Le Vieux Port, we are proud to guarantee our holidaymakers a real quality of services, in addition to areduced environmental impact. Our willingness to pay attention to our natural surroundings has been rewarded by obtaining the European Eco-Label. And this has been the case consecutively since 2011! The only official ecological label and common to all European Union countries, it has existed since 2005 to identify campsites that meet strict criteria in terms of environmental respect. We thus meet the requirements dictated by this certification: low energy consumption, water consumption, good waste management, use of renewable energy sources and less harmful substances for the environment, improvement of the local environment, and awareness of guests to protect nature.
So as well as having 90% eco-designed mobile homes and placing our travellers, as much as our teams, at the heart of the environmental issue, we also use essential materials in this day and age to economise our energy. The unavoidable solar panels are thus an integral part of our 5-star campsite. Photovoltaic solar panels have been installed on all of our infrastructures in order to heat our premises. And to heat domestic hot water with less impact, we have also placed solar thermal panels on the roofs of most of our toilet blocks. The use of these renewable energy sources continues to grow each year, particularly with regard to water. Mixer taps with water flow management have been installed tocomplete our approach and meet the expectations of holidaymakers looking for ecological stays.
Always with a view to preserving our natural environment, we try to constantly conserve the green lung in which our camping site Le Vieux Port is located. As an indication, by the end of 2022, no less than 1350 fir trees and 264 pine trees have been planted in just 12 months. By enriching our corner of the Landes forest every year in this way, we are also trying to preserve the flora of the Landes by planting local species, such as genets, bruyère, acacias or tamaris. Enough to make the hearts of all nature lovers flutter.
