Landes: the running calendar for 2024

APRIL

The Trail du Coeur des Landes Festival

Every spring, Pontonx-sur-l'Adour becomes the trail capital of the Landes. More than 500 participants are expected for this sporting adventure, a trail version of the marathon. Set your pace well to finish this 80km loop, set in the heart of the countryside, with a maximum of single-track sections and trails specially opened for the occasion. "De la Plage aux Pins" race

In Moliets and Mâa, take part in one of the first coastal races. There are two events on offer: a 5km and a 10km run, as well as a leisure walk. The course is varied, very fast but technical, with a few strides in the sand and the rest on cycle paths and forest tracks. MAY

La Foulée Tarnosienne

Who said the Landes was flat? Certainly not the runners who will be wearing out their soles in Tarnos! The programme includes an 8km race through the streets and woods of the Landes town, from the Stade Mabillet forest to the Parc de Castillon. You can register on site before the start.

The Semisens Trail

In a spirit of competition and conviviality, the Trail de Semisens returns to the Landes forest. On the menu: a 21km trail, a 10km nature run and a gourmet walk, with a tasting session of regional produce halfway through. There will be no excessive gradients, but the single-track sections will make for an attractive race. Over 600 runners and walkers are expected at the start! JUNE

Swimrun Côte Sud Landes

In June, Soorts-Hossegor lives to the rhythm of the Swimrun côte sud des Landes (alternating swimming and running in pairs). Over the course of three days, more than 1,000 athletes are expected to take part around the lake. "L'Ambitieuse" is the main event, with a 40km route from the Etang Blanc in Seignosse to the port of Capbreton, via the beaches, finishing at Hossegor lake. JULY

Run'In Pouy at Saint Vincent de Paul

Come and indulge your passion for running at Saint Vincent de Paul, in the heart of the Landes forest and 30 minutes from the beaches of the Côte d'Argent. Two routes are available: 10 km and 5 km, starting at 7pm. Prize-giving and third half at the bodega! Online registration at [ www.pb-organisation.com ].

Les Foulées Tyrossaises

To mark the opening of the Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse festivities, the Foulées Tyrossaises will be opening the ball with a 10km road race through the streets of the town. A great atmosphere guaranteed! You can register on the day of the race at the Place des Arènes.

AUGUST

The Soustons 10 km

This legendary race, a prelude to the Soustons festivals in August, is open to all experienced runners and running enthusiasts. The last edition attracted 2,200 participants, with a festive, musical and triumphant finish in the Soustons Arena. Online registration at [ www.pb-organisation.com ].

The Dax Feriascapade

Created in 1996, the traditional Feriascapade is back in force in Dax, offering feria-goers a little warm-up before moving on to the festivities. Over 4,000 race numbers were snapped up last year. So get your trainers on! Online registration at [ www.feriascapade.fr ].

SEPTEMBER

The Trails de la Pignada

The Trail de la Pignada has quickly established itself as a not-to-be-missed event in the Landes region. Two nature races by the lake and in the Soustons forest, as well as a discovery hike, are on the programme. Nearly 200 runners will be ready to take on the clock. OCTOBER

The Landes Marathon

Over the years, the Marathon des Landes has become a not-to-be-missed event, attracting as many participants as ever. In a festive family atmosphere, runners of all abilities will find something to suit them as they explore the town of Mont-de-Marsan. Nearly 1,400 athletes are expected to take part.
